The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises the public that there will be no garbage collection on Good Friday, April 7, 2023. The landfills in Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will also be closed on this public holiday. Residential garbage collections will resume in previously uncollected areas on Saturday, April 8, 2023. All landfills will reopen on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Operations in the George Town landfill will close at 1:00 pm on this day and on Easter Monday, April 10, 2023. The 24-hour drop off site at the entrance of the George Town Landfill will, however, remain open to facilitate the disposal of small quantities of household waste. Meanwhile, the Cayman Brac and Little Cayman landfill will close at 5:00 pm as normal.
