Traffic Disruption and Partial Road Closure – Boilers Road, George Town
Water Authority–Cayman advises residents and motorists travelling along Boilers Road, George Town of an update to the phased partial road closure, as part of the previously announced Boilers Road Pipelying Project for the period 31 August – 2 October 2026:
- Phase 1 has been extended and will now continue until Friday, 18 September 2026 (previously scheduled to end 11 September). Access to Boilers Road will remain from Walkers Road only (no through traffic to Seafarers Way), now extending up to Meringue Town Plaza (previously up to the Kirk Marine parking lot). Access to Boilers Road from Seafarers Way remains closed during this phase.
- Phase 2 will now begin Monday, 21 September 2026 (previously scheduled to begin 14 September) and continue until Friday, 2 October 2026, as originally scheduled. Access to Boilers Road will be from Seafarers Way only (no through traffic to Walkers Road), up to the Kirk Marine parking lot. Access from Walkers Road will be closed during this phase.
Traffic disruptions will continue to occur between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weekdays only.
The above phase dates are estimates and remain subject to change. Temporary road signs will be in place to guide traffic safely around the works, and heavy equipment will be present on the road throughout. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously to ensure their safety and that of Water Authority crews.
