The Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing & Infrastructure (MPLAHI) is pleased to support the return of Cayman Art Week (CAW26), with CAW Central set to bring art, culture, creativity and community activity into the heart of George Town on Friday, 29 May.

From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the George Town business district and Industrial Park areas through Cayman Art Week’s free hop-on hop-off bus tours, public art experiences, galleries, creative spaces and cultural showcases.

The Ministry’s support forms part of the George Town Revitalisation Initiative (GTRI), which continues to advance a more walkable, active and people-focused capital. Through GTRI, the Ministry is supporting public spaces that are improved through infrastructure, connectivity and streetscape enhancements, while also being activated through culture, local business, creativity and community participation.

Founder and Creative Director of Cayman Art Week, Natalie Urquhart said,

Cayman Art Week is designed to celebrate creativity while supporting the growth of a sustainable art market in the Cayman Islands. Our longstanding partnership with George Town Revitalisation is rooted in a shared vision to champion the many creative venues and businesses that contribute to the vibrancy of our island’s capital.”

Minister for Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing & Infrastructure, Hon. Jay Ebanks, welcomed the return of Cayman Art Week and highlighted its alignment with the long-term vision for George Town.

The George Town Revitalisation Initiative was always about more than infrastructure — it was about creating spaces where people want to gather, walk, experience culture and reconnect with the heart of our Islands. Seeing George Town activated through art, movement and community engagement is exactly the type of energy and vibrancy we envisioned for the future of our capital.”

The Ministry encourages the public to come out, support local artists and businesses, and experience George Town as the capital continues to evolve into a more vibrant, walkable and culturally connected space.
