A milestone day highlights Doctors Hospital’s leadership and commitment to Cayman’s business community
The team at Doctors Hospital Cayman is proud to share a notable moment for the organisation, as Chief Executive Officer Dr. Margo McCrae was elected to the Council of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, and the hospital was honoured with a Chamber Champion Award at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on April 15, 2026.
The dual recognition underscores Doctors Hospital’s longstanding role not only as a leading healthcare provider, but as an active and committed steward of the Chamber and the wider business community.
Recognised as a Steward of the Chamber
The Chamber Champion Award recognises organisations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to the mission and work of the Chamber of Commerce. Doctors Hospital’s recognition reflects its continued investment in supporting, advancing, and engaging with initiatives that strengthen Cayman’s business environment and community wellbeing.
As an organisation, Doctors Hospital has consistently supported the Chamber’s efforts to drive progress across key national priorities, particularly those aligned with workforce development, access to essential services, and quality of life.
Elevating Healthcare at the Decision-Making Table
Dr. McCrae’s election to one of three contested Councillor positions ensures that healthcare will have a strong and consistent voice within the Chamber’s leadership.
The Chamber plays a central role in shaping Cayman’s economic and social agenda, and her appointment reinforces the critical link between healthcare, workforce productivity, and long-term national development.
A Proven Leader for a Pivotal Moment
Dr. McCrae assumed the role of CEO of Doctors Hospital in March 2026, following more than 13 years of leadership within the organisation. She has been instrumental in advancing the hospital’s strategic growth and clinical excellence, including leading its accreditation by Joint Commission International.

Speaking on the milestone evening, Dr. McCrae said:
“It is an honour to be elected to the Chamber Council and to serve alongside such an accomplished group of leaders. I am equally proud of the recognition Doctors Hospital received as a Chamber Champion.
This reflects our team’s commitment not only to delivering high-quality healthcare, but to actively supporting the broader community and business environment that makes Cayman thrive.
I look forward to ensuring that healthcare remains a key part of the Chamber’s agenda, particularly in strengthening our workforce, expanding access to essential services, and supporting sustainable growth across all sectors.”
A Shared Achievement for the Doctors Hospital Team
“Last night was a proud moment for our entire organisation,” said Dave Pellow, who sits on the board of Doctors Hospital.
“Margo’s election is a testament to her leadership and vision, and the Chamber Champion Award reflects the collective commitment of our team to supporting the Cayman Islands beyond the walls of our hospital.
We see ourselves not only as a healthcare provider, but as an active partner in the community and a steward of the Chamber’s mission. We are proud to contribute to building a stronger, healthier Cayman.”
