Miss Universe Cayman Islands 2026, Juliana Myers, says caring for her mental health is a central part of her plan as she gets ready to compete on the Miss Universe stage in Puerto Rico on 24 November.  Speaking on Radio Cayman’s “The Buzz,” the 21‑year‑old West Bay representative told host Kathy Miller she wants to be in the best possible emotional and psychological shape when she represents the islands overseas.

Juliana explained that her preparation will include runway and public‑speaking work, time in the gym and guidance on handling media, but she was clear about the role of mental preparation. “I think most importantly for me, going to therapy and ensuring my mental health is in the best place possible to ensure I can represent Cayman with all of my being,” she said.

Beyond pageant preparations, Juliana continues to focus on youth empowerment at home. She visits schools and summer programmes, offers mentoring, and works with Island House, a local nonprofit that supports at‑risk students referred from public schools with life‑skills training such as financial literacy, Toastmasters and entrepreneurship.

Drawing on her own experience making unconventional choices as a young adult, Juliana told listeners that success is built more on consistent effort than on feeling inspired. “It’s all about being determined and being disciplined… motivation runs out. It’s here and there. So, it’s all about being disciplined, determined, and having your mindset to what you want,” she said.

Miss Myers hopes that by speaking openly about therapy and discipline, she can help normalise mental‑health support and encourage young Caymanians to set ambitious goals while taking care of their minds, not just their bodies.
She also plans appearances across all three islands so residents can see the person who will represent them on the international stage and follow her journey to Puerto Rico.
