The 2026 Pirates Week Festival will be celebrated under the theme "Spirits, Gold and Glory," Youth, Sports, Heritage and Culture Minister the Honourable Isaac Rankine announced this week, as organisers prepare for what they say will be an even bigger edition of one of the Cayman Islands' signature national festivals.
Speaking on the heels of what he described as a "tremendously successful" 2025 festival, Minister Rankine said Pirates Week continues to hold a central place in the country's cultural calendar. "Pirates Week continues to be one of the Cayman Islands' premier national festivals, celebrating our heritage, culture, community spirit, and adventurous maritime history that has shaped who we are as a people," he said.
Festival Dates Reconfirmed
The Minister formally reconfirmed the dates first announced in November of last year:
A Theme Rooted in Cayman's Spirit
Explaining the choice of "Spirits, Gold and Glory," Minister Rankine said the theme "reflects the strength, mystery, resilience, and the adventurous spirit of the Cayman Islands National Festival."
Fan Favourites Return
Organisers confirmed that several signature elements will return in 2026, including the Pirates Week Song Competition, the Pirates Week T-Shirt Competition, and the highly anticipated Night Parade, described by the Minister as "just some of the exciting elements that will help make Pirates Week 2026 another unforgettable celebration."
Call to the Business Community
The Ministry is also renewing its push for private-sector partnership. "In the coming weeks, we'll be launching our sponsorship package and meeting with the businesses and partners interested in supporting the continued success and growth of Pirates Week," Minister Rankine said, encouraging the corporate community to help build a stronger festival experience.
An Invitation to All
Closing his remarks, the Minister extended an open invitation to residents, visitors, businesses, creatives, performers, and community groups to take part in Pirates Week 2026.
