Police/Court
25 April 2026, 05:58 AM

Shortly after 10:30PM on Thursday, 23 April, police officers attended an address in West Bay, in search of two missing juveniles who were believed to be harboured there.

The juveniles were located at the addressed and while attempting to speak with one of the juveniles, a large crowd gathered at the location and the situation became disorderly. Officers attempted to secure both juveniles in order to return them safely to their home.

One of the juveniles, placed inside the service vehicle, became violent and kicked a rear window, causing it to shatter. The juvenile was subsequently removed from the damaged vehicle and transported in another police vehicle.

Both juveniles were safely taken into custody and returned to care without further incident.

Police later received a report that a male present at the address, had received injuries during the incident. This matter is currently under investigation and a referral has been made to the Office of the Ombudsman

Police are also actively investigating the circumstances of the juveniles being present at the location, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen child safeguarding efforts and address incidents of juveniles being harboured away from home.
