The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce hosted a powerful and thought-provoking “Lunch & Learn” session on Friday, 31 October, led by mindset coach and community leader Chelsea Flynn. Titled “Rewire, Refocus, Rise: A Power Hour for Breakthroughs,” the session delivered exactly what it promised—an energizing hour of insight, interaction, and inspiration.
Flynn, founder of Chelsea Flynn Coaching and Chair of Autism Acceptance Cayman, guided attendees through the science and strategy behind mindset transformation. Drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and behavioural psychology, she explored how our thoughts shape our feelings, which in turn drive our behaviours and ultimately determine our outcomes.
“Your brain isn’t wired for risk—it’s wired for comfort,” Flynn explained, challenging participants to identify and reframe the limiting beliefs that keep them stuck. She contrasted the fixed mindset, which fears failure, with the growth mindset, which asks: “What if you succeed?”
Participants were encouraged to examine their internal narratives and shift from an external locus of control—where circumstances dictate outcomes—to a more empowered, internal perspective. “You are not your thoughts,” Flynn reminded the group. “You are the observer of your thoughts.”
The session emphasized the importance of self-awareness, habit-building, and action. “It’s not enough to think differently—you have to act differently,” Flynn said. “Confidence is built through practice. You have to train yourself to push through fear, to rewire your responses, and to replace self-doubt with self-belief.”
Attendees left with practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and build routines that support personal and professional growth. The session was a standout example of the Chamber’s commitment to empowering its members through high-impact learning experiences.
“Chelsea’s session was one of the most engaging and empowering we’ve hosted this year,” said Emily Sintorn, the Chamber’s Training Coordinator. “Her ability to connect with the audience and deliver practical, science-backed strategies was truly impressive. We’re already in discussions to bring her back for a full training series in 2026.”
Participants echoed the enthusiasm. “My name is Joy and I was happy to be here. I’ve learned a lot—I’ve learned to be strong-minded, resilient,” said one attendee. Another, Tessa, shared: “I’ve just done a session with Chelsea—really informative, really useful. I’m going away feeling really inspired.”
