The Cayman Islands Brewery (Caybrew) is excited to announce the launch of Lagerhead, a new premium amber lager and a permanent addition to its core portfolio. Brewed with both flavour and purpose in mind, Lagerhead supports turtle conservation and protection initiatives led by the Cayman Islands Department of Environment (DoE).
Named in honour of the protected Loggerhead turtles that nest along Cayman’s beaches, Lagerhead continues Caybrew’s dedication to protecting the marine environment, alongside White Tip, its much‑loved shark conservation beer.
Lagerhead is a 4.4% ABV amber lager offering a smooth, toasted malt character balanced by a crisp, refreshing finish. Crafted to appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers, it offers an easy‑drinking profile that’s perfect for any occasion.
More than just a great tasting beer, with every can, case, pint or pitcher poured a donation will be made to the DoE, the equivalent of $0.05 per can or $1.20 per case. These funds will directly support turtle protection, conservation, and research efforts across Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce Lagerhead as a permanent addition to our range,” said Craig Webster, General Manager at Caybrew. “It not only brings a new flavour profile to our portfolio, but also gives us the opportunity to support the important work being done to protect Cayman’s turtle population. This initiative is closely aligned with our company values and our ongoing commitment to giving back to the islands.
Timothy Austin, Department of Environment Deputy Director, Research and Assessment added, “This partnership will play an important role in supporting turtle conservation efforts. Contributions from Lagerhead will help protect turtles from threats, fund targeted research to fill gaps in our understanding of conservation needs, and raise awareness to support the long-term survival of sea turtles in the Cayman Islands.”
Lagerhead will become a permanent addition to the Caybrew range and will be available on tap and in cans from Friday, 1 May. The Caybrew team will be hosting in bar launch events across Grand Cayman, kicking off at Sunset House on Saturday, 2 May. Follow @caybrew for details.
