GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands — 2025 – The Cayman Islands has again been recognised as a global leader in the captive insurance sector, taking home Cell Captive Domicile of the Year and receiving Highly Commended in the category Captive Domicile of the Year – More than $5bn GWP at the prestigious Captive Review US Awards 2025.
The annual awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the US captive insurance market, recognising jurisdictions, managers, and service providers that have shown outstanding performance over the past year.
Judges described Cayman as “a leading, well-established domicile for cell captives, known for its flexible, business‑friendly regulations, mature ecosystem, and reputation for innovative structures.”
They also highlighted the jurisdiction’s appeal for accident and health, fintech, insurance-linked securities (ILS), and ESG-linked programmes, along with its robust legal and regulatory framework and respected segregated portfolio company (SPC) legislation.
