The Cayman Islands will observe the official birthday of His Majesty King Charles III on Monday, 23 June 2025. To mark the occasion there will be a special parade and presentation of honours in front of Government House on West Bay Road at 8:00 am.

Governor Jane Owen will present medals to two members of the community who were awarded New Year’s honours by His Majesty the King for outstanding service to the Cayman Islands.  The former Director of Broadcasting at Radio Cayman, Loxley E M Banks, will be made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to broadcasting.  Head of Music at John Gray High School, Frances McConvey, will receive a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to music education.

In addition, an award will be presented to the family of the late Morgan DaCosta, who was awarded the King's Certificate and Badge of Honour in 2024 for service to cultural preservation and development.

The parade will feature the uniformed services including the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, Cayman Islands Regiment, Cayman Islands Fire Service, His Majesty Cayman Islands Prison Service and Cayman Islands Coast Guard.

Youth organisations will include the Cayman Islands Girls’ Brigade, Cayman Islands Scouts and Cub Scouts and Cayman Islands Cadet Corps.

Members of the public are invited to attend this national observation and are asked to be seated by 7:30 am to ensure the prompt and orderly start to the proceedings.

The Governor will host a garden party on 13 June to celebrate His Majesty’s Birthday.  Guests for this invitation only event include those who have contributed to the United Kingdom-Cayman relationship and community representatives selected by elected members of parliament from all districts.

The parade and presentation of honours will be broadcast live on CIG TV and Cayman Islands Government YouTube channel. The public is invited to follow official Cayman Islands Government channels for updates and highlights.
