The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of its new Chamber Webinar Series, aligned with the advocacy pillar Sustaining Economic Success. This series will explore key infrastructure topics critical to the islands’ long-term development.
The first session, titled “Wastewater Treatment and Disposal in the Cayman Islands,” will take place on Wednesday, 8 October 2025 at 3:00 p.m. and will be presented by Hendrik van Genderen, Water Resources Engineer at the Water Authority. He will be joined for a Q&A session by Gelia Frederick-van Genderen, Director of the Water Authority, and Tom van Zanten, Deputy Director.
This informative session will review the evolution and future of the Water Authority as a utility, with a focus on its statutory responsibility for on-site wastewater management. Attendees will gain insights into the Authority’s role in wastewater collection and treatment, including areas outside the central system, and learn about plans to meet the growing infrastructure needs of the Cayman Islands.

The second confirmed session in the series will take place on Wednesday, 29 October 2025 at 3:00 p.m., titled “Beneath the Waves: Uncovering Our Undersea Cable Network.” This webinar will explore the undersea cable systems serving the Cayman Islands, their role in global connectivity, and plans for future upgrades and redundancy strategies to support the country’s digital infrastructure.
