Children Safe after Smoke Detected at Theoline Primary Schoo

The Department of Education Services (DES) advises that the Theoline McCoy Primary School activated its emergency fire response procedure this morning (2 December) after smoke was detected in the vicinity of its mechanical room.

The Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) and the DES Facilities Management team were immediately called to assess the situation, which occurred at approximately 10:00 AM.

No student was impacted as a result.

The CIFS has since given the all-clear for students to return to their classrooms.
