CIFA Games To Resume After Mass Shooting

The Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Executive Committee, after holding several meetings with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), Government representatives and other stakeholders, has decided at its meeting held on 4 March 2024 to:

  1. Allow the restart of normal training sessions and other activities as of Tuesday, 5 March2024.
  2. Hold a meeting with the Member Clubs’ Presidents and General Secretaries onWednesday, 6 March 2024 to discuss important matters related to the safety and securityof football activities.
  3. To announce the tentative restart of the official competitions’ matches to Wednesday, 13March 2024. The new schedule will be released by the Technical Department as soon aspossible.
  4. Inform that it was recommended by the authorities to not use the Ed Bush Stadium andBodden Town Field for official matches due to safety reasons.

As the investigations are still ongoing, the CIFA is working closely with the Cayman Islands Government and the RCIPS to ensure the safety of our football activities and matches.
