CIG Schools & SATC to Reopen on Monday, 27 October 2025

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) advises that all government schools and the Sunrise Adult Training Centre (SATC) will reopen on Monday, 27 October 2025.

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of its students, clients and staff, the Ministry will continue to monitor the weather, in consultation with Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI), and issue further updates on Monday afternoon as needed.

This decision, follows the Cayman Islands National Weather Service (CINWS) latest forecast indicating less severe weather impacts from Hurricane Melissa in the coming days.

As the system may result in periods of heavy rainfall, the Ministry, the Department of Education Services (DES) and the SATC urge parents/guardians and caregivers to ensure students/clients are adequately equipped for wet conditions.
