The Family Resource Centre (FRC) and the CIG Wellness Committee are excited to be hosting a virtual roundtable discussion - Civil Service: Women in Leadership - in celebration of Honouring Women Month (HWM) this Wednesday, 23 March.
A varied group of panellists will be present with the goal of celebrating women’s achievements, while also recognising specific gender issues impacting society today.
As this year’s International Women’s Day theme #BreakTheBias emphasises the importance of promoting a gender-equal world to break free from biases in our community, Charmaine Miller (Clinical Supervisor, FRC) said: “We have organised several events this year with the purpose of reaching different audiences. We believe that now is the time to talk openly and collaboratively about women’s leadership in various fields, including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This roundtable discussion will highlight female leaders’ journeys, challenges and advice for future generations of women leaders.”
Panellists lined up for the discussion include Pamela Greene, Chief Information Security Officer for the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture and Housing; Tina McBean, Cayman Islands Fire Service Deputy Chief Officer; Gina Ebanks-Petrie, Director of the Department of Environment and Kerry-Ann Picard, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning.
The FRC and Department of Counselling Services (DCS) will continue to celebrate women’s achievements throughout the month. For this year’s HWM calendar and for further information call 949-0006, visit www.frc.gov.ky/, and follow FRC on Instagram (@frccayman) and Facebook (@FamilyResourceCentre).
