The Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium (CIYDC), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to asset-building programs for youth, is thrilled to announce the appointment of new members to its board of directors. This strategic addition brings fresh expertise and renewed energy to guide the organization's mission of empowering every young person in the Cayman Islands to thrive through developmental assets, peer support, family engagement, school resources, and community involvement.

For 20 years, CIYDC has pioneered initiatives like Leadership and Prevention Summer Camps, the annual Support Our Youth Month, Planning for Youth Success Conference, and Celebrate Our Youth Day, all rooted in the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets Framework. The new board members, detailed on the organization's website board page, include experienced leaders committed to preventing risky behaviors and fostering success among Cayman’s youth.

CIYDC Founder Dr. Sylvia Wilks, continues to provide visionary leadership, while the expanded board—comprising dedicated CIYDC Board Members—will drive upcoming events such as the May 2026 Youth Asset Fair Launch and August 2026 Fearless Xtreme Summer Camp. Board Members are Dr. Sylvia Wilks (Founder), Michael Wilks (Outgoing Chair), Letisha Scott (Chair), Natasha Marius (Finance Committee Chair), Kaysie Jackson (Secretary), Schilo Scott, Annie Hawkins, Jerrin Velasquez-Reynolds, Zara Majid, Shakina Edwards, Susana Novas-Borden, Yolanda Bush

“We are excited about the diverse perspectives these new board members bring to our table,” said a CIYDC, founding chairman, Mr. Michael Wilks. “Their involvement will amplify our impact in creating partnerships and opportunities for asset building across the islands, ensuring a brighter future for our community.”
