Covid 19

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 1,752 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Tuesday, 14 September 2021.

There were 11 positive test results. Of these, there are nine positive community cases and two positives in travellers.

Seven of the community positives include children from George Town Primary School (GTPS) and two adults who were found to be primary contacts.

GTPS remains closed until clearance to return to school is given by Public Health.

All GTPS households are reminded that they must continue to isolate at home, whether test results have been received or not, until they are advised they can leave by a Public Health official.

There have been 104,304 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 53,934 (76% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 50,370 (71%) have completed the two-dose course.
