COVID-19 Update 7 October 2021

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that as of 9a.m. Thursday, 7 October, there have been 731 PCR tests processed since the last report on Wednesday, 6 October.

Of these, there are nine positive results including four positive tests in travellers and five in children from our the community, one of whom was admitted to hospital yesterday evening but is doing well today.

To date, there have been 108,501 Covid-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 55,496 (78% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 52,783 (74%) have completed the two-dose course. Additionally, 222 (0%) have had a third or booster dose.
