On Saturday, August 4, 2019 the Royal Cayman Islands Police received an anonymous call alerting them to a wild green sea turtle shell located at Morgan’s Harbour. The Shell, which is more than 3 ½ feet long is believed to have come from a poached turtle. The Department of Environment, along with other authorities are investigating the remains. Cayman Turtle and Conservation Centre (T/A Cayman Turtle Centre) is pleased to partner with Crime Stoppers and announce CI$2,000 additional reward money available to anyone with information on this or any other incident of wild turtle poaching, or information on the sale of wild turtle meat, that leads to the arrest of an individual responsible for, or participating in, such activities.
