Director of the Department of Education Services Updates the Public on COVID 19 Safety Measures in Cayman Islands Government Schools

The of the Department of Education Services (DES) Mr. Mark Ray today (12 October) issued a video message to update the public on the COVID-19 safety measures in Cayman Islands government schools.

In his message, Mr. Ray outlined several measures implemented by Cayman Islands Government schools to guarantee quality education if schools or classes are required to shift to remote learning.

He also sought to clarify the Ministry of Education's decision to bring forward the mid-term breaks for government primary and secondary schools in Grand Cayman.

The DES Director further outlined several protocols that Cayman Islands Government schools have implemented to ensure students and teachers' health and safety upon returning to school after the mid-term break and encouraged parents to discuss the importance of physical distancing and other safety measures with their children.
