DVDL Demonstrates Strong Commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness and Social Responsibility

The Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure (PLAHI) is pleased to announce that the Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) presented a donation of CI$1,230.80 to the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) last Friday, October 25th, 2025, at the department’s Crewe Road Main Office.

 

The funds were raised by DVDL staff as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to support breast cancer awareness and promote community well-being. The initiative reflects DVDL’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to giving back to the people of the Cayman Islands.

 

Representatives from the Breast Cancer Foundation attended the brief presentation to accept the donation and express their appreciation for DVDL’s contribution. The funds will support the Foundation’s ongoing work to provide assistance, education, and advocacy for those affected by breast cancer.

 

Johany “Jay” Ebanks, Minister for Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure, commended the department’s initiative, noting:

 

“I am proud of the team at DVDL for their generosity and commitment to community service. Their efforts to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation demonstrate the Ministry’s values of compassion, care, and civic responsibility. Acts like these strengthen our community and provide hope to those who need it most.”

 

The Ministry’s appreciation was echoed by the department’s Director, who emphasised the importance of continued community involvement and giving back:

 

At DVDL, we believe our responsibilities extend beyond the licensing counter,” said David Dixon, Director of DVDL. “Our team is passionate about supporting causes that make a real difference in people’s lives. We are proud to contribute to the Breast Cancer Foundation’s vital work and to stand with those in our community who are impacted by breast cancer.”

 

The Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure and the Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing remain dedicated to community engagement and public service.
