Early Closure of George Town Landfill on Ash Wednesday

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising the public of the early closure of the George Town Landfill operation on Ash Wednesday.

The George Town Landfill will close at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. However, regular garbage collection and recycling operations will be as normal on this public holiday.

Regular operations at the George Town Landfill will resume on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill which will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small amounts of waste from residential customers, if necessary.
