The Beacon Farms team is swapping tractors for golf carts as they host their first annual Golf Invitational fundraiser at the North Sound Golf Club on Friday 20 June.
Registration is now open for teams to sign up for an afternoon of golf in aid of a good cause, with proceeds from the tournament supporting Beacon Farms’ mission to provide jobs in agriculture for Caymanians recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.
The Beacon Farms Golf Invitational promises an afternoon of friendly competition on the course, a buffet dinner and the chance to win some unforgettable prizes – including a brand-new car from TRAC Automotive for anyone lucky enough to sink a hole in one.
Funds raised at the event will help Beacon Farms deliver a continuum of care for recovering addicts by providing a safe, sober work environment and on-the-job training for people rebuilding their lives. Set up in 2017, the Beacon of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organisation that has a positive social impact and is also breaking new ground in agriculture, creating soil out of rock and piloting new farming techniques.
“Beacon Farms is a social enterprise with multiple benefits, as we not only give people a second chance, we’re also helping to improve food security in the Cayman Islands,” said Sandy Urquhart, Beacon Farms CEO. “While revenues from the farm are growing each year, we still rely on support from the community to help us sustain our programme. We are grateful to all our sponsors and everyone who comes out to support Beacon Farms at the golf tournament this year.”
The Beacon Farms Golf Invitational is supported by gold sponsor Artex Risk Solutions, as well as corporate sponsors Panthera International, CUC, CG Britcay, IMS, Vigoro and Cayman Cigar Company.
Limited spaces are still available for team registration at $1,000 per team at https://www.beaconfarmscayman.org/about-7. The event is a golf scramble starting at 12 noon on Friday 20 June at the North Sound Golf Club. Prizes will be awarded for the best team score, longest drive and nearest to the pin, with plenty of additional prizes to be won in the raffle.
