Cayman Art Week returns for a fifth year from Tuesday 20 to Sunday 25 May with another full schedule of more than 40 art events, pop-up exhibitions, open studios and extended hours at galleries across all three Cayman Islands.

Launched in 2021, Cayman Art Week is designed to stimulate the commercial art market by connecting collectors and potential buyers with local artists and gallery owners. Originally started as a way to support artists in the wake of the pandemic, Cayman Art Week has established itself as a popular annual event for both local and visitors. With art on sale for every budget, in a variety of formats that range from painting and sculpture to digital and installations, and with well-established artists featured alongside up-and-coming talent, Cayman Art Week has broad appeal.

Natalie Urquhart, founder and creative director of Cayman Art Week, says, “There’s an incredible energy around Cayman Art Week as artists and venues come up with ever more creative collaborations and presentations. We are excited to see the industry taking ownership of Cayman Art Week in this way. While Cayman Art Week provides a platform, the creative community are the stars of the show and have the most to gain from a successful art week. By continuing to support the growth of the art market, our hope is that more creatives can sustain a career in the arts.”

There is no charge for artists or venues to participate in Cayman Art Week, and all events are free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of local partners including Cayman Art Week Patron Mrs Susan A. Olde OBE, George Town Revitalisation, National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa and Hotel Indigo, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, Camana Bay, REAL LIFE magazine, Kelly Holding, Cricket Square, Harbour Walk, Audi, Jacques Scott and Majestic Tours.
