HSA thanks patients for smoke alarm response

Wednesday morning, 1st February 2023, the Cayman Islands Fire Service responded to an alarm at the Cayman Islands Hospital. The alarm was triggered by smoke in a mechanical room located in the Dialysis Unit. Patients in Dialysis, Urgent Care, Pharmacy and MRI were escorted from the affected areas until the ‘all clear’ was given. The Dialysis Unit has undergone air quality testing and will resume all services today. Dialysis patients have been contacted to reschedule their treatment for later in the day. The Health Services Authority (HSA) would like to thank our patients, visitors and vendors for their cooperation during this time and apologise for any inconvenience.
