Press Release: The International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) recently inducted seven outstanding business students into the Sigma Beta Delta (SBD) Honor Society during a special Induction Ceremony. This year, the ceremony was held prior to graduation, allowing inductees to proudly wear their SBD regalia at the commencement ceremony. This visible recognition of academic excellence serves to inspire pride among students and encourages others to strive for academic achievement, aiming to be among the top 20 percent eligible for future induction into Sigma Beta Delta.
Alum and keynote speaker was Dr. Lancelot Barnes. “As a recipient of this prestigious award in 2016, Sigma Beta Delta is more than an accolade - it is a charge. A charge to live by its founding principles: Wisdom, honor, and the pursuit of meaningful goals,” he said. Dr. Barnes supports Aldous Huxley’s ideology that wisdom “is not found in certainty or in the flawless execution of plans. It is found in our ability to live ethically and meaningfully amid uncertainty and change.
It is the strength to remain steady when clarity is not present and to make principled choices when outcomes are unclear.” Instructor Fareed Hosein brought congratulatory remarks to the student inductees, their families, and friends.
President Dr. Coon, assisted by the Dean Dr. Aleza Beverly, presented inductees with the SBD certificates, medals, pins, and the honor cord, which were worn at graduation. SBD members received a lifetime membership in SBD International which includes international networking opportunities, international scholarships and the prestige of being a member of this honor society and displaying it on their resumes for life.
ICCI congratules it's newest Sigma Beta Delta inductees - leading with integrity, excellence, and global impact.
