The Parliament of the Cayman Islands hosted the 26th National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, 22nd January 2026, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, bringing together Members of Parliament, faith leaders, and members of the wider community in a spirit of unity and reflection. Held under the theme “Faith, respect and love in serving the common good,” the event provided an opportunity for national leaders and citizens to come together in prayer and reaffirm their shared commitment to service and nation-building. Opening remarks were delivered by the Hon. D. Ezzard Miller, Speaker of Parliament, followed by remarks from the Hon. André Ebanks, MP, Premier of the Cayman Islands. The programme led by Deputy Speaker, Hon. Pearlina McGaw-Lumsden, MP, and included performances of the National Anthem and National Song by Ms. Jhenelle Colquhoun. The event brought together scripture readings and prayers from leaders across Parliament, the Judiciary, and the Christian community, and complemented by musical selections led by Mr. Antonio Sanchez of Elmslie Memorial United Church and solo performances by Mrs. Kevon Hyre and Mrs. Anika Jefferson. The Guest Speaker, Pastor Garett Haylock of the Church of God at West Bay, delivered a message focused on unity, faith, and service to the nation. Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Speaker of Parliament Hon. D. Ezzard Miller said: “The National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast serves as a reminder that faith, respect, and love must guide our actions as leaders and citizens. It is through unity and reflection that we strengthen our resolve to serve the Cayman Islands with integrity and compassion.” The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Hon. Nickolas DaCosta, JP, MP, Minister of District Administration & Home Affairs, and a Benediction by Pastor Torrance Bobb of the First Assembly of God Church.
