Shortly after 9:00PM yesterday, 29 October, officers responded to a report of a wounding incident at the Grand Harbour Shopping Centre in George Town. It was reported that a woman had been stabbed by a man known to her. EMS attended the location and the woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where she is currently being treated for serious and potentially life-changing injuries. The man left the location in a vehicle prior to the arrival of the police.
Officers conducted enquiries and shortly afterwards located a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the suspect, which was seized by police as part of investigations.
Today, 30 October, police arrested a man, age 34, residing in George Town, on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the incident. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
