Police/Court
12 January 2026, 05:19 AM

A man, age 37 residing in George Town, has been arrested and formally charged with two counts of Burglary and one count of Attempted Burglary, in relation to three incidents:

On 5 January, where a restaurant on North Church Street was broken into, and a number of items taken. On 7 January, where a man attempted to gain entry to a restaurant located on Seafarers Way, but was unsuccessful. And on 8 January, where a man returned to the same restaurant and successfully gained entry, ransacked the establishment and stole a quantity of cash from the register, along with other items.

The accused is appearing in court tomorrow, Monday, 12 January.

“We wish to commend both of these establishments for their use of effective security measures, including well-maintained high-quality CCTV systems,” says Detective Superintendent Peter Lansdown. “The footage provided was instrumental in enabling a quick identification, arrest, and charge of the suspect. We encourage all businesses to utilise similar security measures.”
