Migrants Relocated after Fire at the Bodden Town Civic Center

As investigations continue regarding the recent fire at the Bodden Town Civic Center (BTCC), the Customs & Border Control Service (CBC) confirms that migrants who were housed at the BTCC have been safely relocated to the Breakers Civic Center on a temporary basis.

In support of and further to the role of CBC regarding matters of security and welfare, personnel from His Majesty Cayman Islands Prison Service (HMCIPS) are overseeing shift operations and providing on-scene support at the Civic Center.

CBC recognizes and wishes to express thanks to several partners within the Cayman Islands Government (CIG) who have played and continue to play a role in assisting with migrant-related matters including the recent fire event that took place on Saturday, 14 December 2024.
