The Ministry of Tourism & Trade Development is pleased to announce the appointment of Sasha Rochester as its new Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO).

Ms. Rochester brings over 17 years of audit and financial management experience to the Ministry, having worked across diverse sectors both in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. A Chartered Accountant by profession, she is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist—credentials that underscore her deep expertise in financial compliance and risk management.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies (Accounting) from the University of the West Indies, as well as a diploma in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and a certificate in International Financial Reporting (IFRS).

In her new role, Ms. Rochester will support the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the Ministry’s financial operations and ensuring continued compliance with all relevant budgetary and regulatory frameworks. She will also play a key part in the preparation for annual audits and will serve as Acting CFO in the CFO’s absence, ensuring seamless continuity of financial governance.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team,” said Ms. Rochester. “I look forward to working collaboratively to support the Ministry’s goals and believe my skills, experience, and commitment to public service will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to our financial stewardship.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Rochester is actively involved in community service. She has served in executive roles within the Grand Cayman Toastmasters Club and has volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Her hobbies include reading, enjoying music and movies, and exploring local cuisine.

The Ministry congratulates Ms. Rochester on her appointment and looks forward to the positive impact of her leadership and expertise.
