The Ministry of Education and Training wishes to inform parents, motorists and residents in the surrounding community of ongoing improvement works at Joanna Clarke Primary School (JCPS).
The project, being undertaken in collaboration with the Public Works Department (PWD) and the school's administration, includes the expansion of the school's assembly hall and staff room, additional parking facilities and improvements to the school grounds.
Preliminary works commenced ahead of and continued during the October mid-term break to minimise disruption to teaching and learning.
As construction progresses, nearby residents and motorists may experience occasional noise, increased construction activity and temporary traffic disruptions. Most construction activities are expected to take place outside regular student drop-off and collection times, with any traffic impacts anticipated primarily during the late afternoon and early evening. Traffic mitigation measures are in place to help minimise inconvenience to motorists and the surrounding community.
The Ministry, and the Department of Education Services (DES), the Public Works Department (PWD) and the school's administration, remains committed to ensuring the safety of students, staff and visitors throughout the construction period.
Joanna Clarke Primary School will remain operational, with construction areas secured and separated from spaces used by students and staff.
Should any construction activities affect regular school hours or student drop-off and collection arrangements, parents will be informed in advance directly through the school, as appropriate.
Motorists travelling in the vicinity are encouraged to exercise caution and observe any temporary traffic or safety signage.
The Ministry and the Department of Education Services extend their sincere appreciation to staff, parents, staff, motorists, and nearby residents for their patience and understanding as these improvements are carried out for the benefit of the school community.
