Ministry of Education & Training Invites Applications for Overseas Scholarships

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) announces the opening of applications for the Overseas Scholarship Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year. Applications are now being accepted from 15 November 2025 through 31 January 2026.

The programme provides financial support for eligible Caymanians who are at least 17 years old and possess the right to be Caymanian, enabling them to pursue higher education overseas.

Award amounts include:

  • Undergraduate scholarships of up to CI$30,000 per annum for up to four years.
  • Postgraduate scholarships of up to CI$35,000 per annum for Masters (two years) and Doctoral studies (three years).
  • Undergraduate Education Scholarships of up to CI$35,000 per annum, supporting MoET’s continued efforts to increase the number of qualified Caymanian classroom teachers.Minister for Education & Training Hon. Rolston Anglin underscored the national importance of the programme:

“As a Ministry, we remain firmly committed to ensuring that Caymanians are equipped to lead in every sphere of our society. The Overseas Scholarship Programme is a critical investment in our people, providing access to world-class education and the skills our country needs for the future. I encourage all eligible applicants to apply with

purpose and ambition. Your achievements will contribute to the continued progress of our Islands.”

Chief Officer Ms. Cetonya Cacho encouraged students and adult learners to seize the opportunity:

“Every Caymanian deserves access to meaningful learning pathways, and our scholarship programmes continue to open doors that transform lives. I encourage all eligible applicants to take this step with confidence. The Ministry is here to support you as you pursue your goals and return home ready to contribute to the success of our Islands.”

All scholarship recipients are required to return to the Cayman Islands upon completion of their studies.
