The Cayman Islands National Weather Service has issued a flooding advisory for Grand Cayman today, 9 June 2026.

In response, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Department of Education Services (DES) urge parents and guardians to make arrangements to safely collect their children from the bus.

Parents and guardians are also asked to ensure children are equipped for wet conditions throughout the week, including raincoats and umbrellas, for drop-off, pick-up, and transitions between classes.

The MoET and DES are closely monitoring the situation and will issue further school-related updates via social media and direct communication should conditions worsen. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to visit caymanprepared.ky for weather-related information and updates.
