The Ministry of Education and Training is pleased to support the Miss Teen Cayman Islands Pageant through its sponsorship of the titleholder’s educational scholarship, reinforcing its commitment to investing in the education and development of young Caymanians. Miss Teen Cayman Islands 2026, Azariah Oswald, officially received her scholarship on Thursday, 24 September, at a signing ceremony with the Ministry.
The scholarship, valued at up to $54,000, will cover two years of local study followed by two years of study at an overseas university of Azariah’s choice. Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Rolston Anglin, congratulated Azariah on her achievement and highlighted the importance of creating opportunities that allow young Caymanians to develop their potential. “Azariah is a shining example of excellence and an inspiring role model for other young people.
This scholarship is a continuation of the Ministry’s and Government’s commitment to supporting young people like Azariah and ensuring that they develop their knowledge and skills so that thay can contribute meaningfully to the Cayman Islands.” Minister Anglin also congratulated the Lions Club of Grand Cayman and the Leos Club for their role in organising the Miss Teen Cayman Islands Pageant, a programme that celebrates and inspires young Caymanian women. For Azariah, the scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It is an opportunity to pursue her educational goals while preparing to make a difference in her community and beyond.
“I am very grateful for this scholarship. Not only is it funding for my education, it is making my lifelong dream of becoming a clinical psychologist a reality. I will be able to go away for school, meet other people, advocate for what I believe in and make a difference not only in my community, but wherever I go.” Learn more about the Ministry of Education and Training’s scholarships at gov.ky/web/moet/scholarships.
