Nominations are now open for the 2027 National Recognition Awards, and members of the public are invited to put forward individuals and organisations that helped build and strengthen the Cayman Islands’ financial services industry. Nominations close Sunday, 4 October 2026.

Financial Services is the theme for the 2027 awards, which will recognise contributions to the development of the Cayman Islands as a leading international financial centre and the lasting impact the industry has had on the country’s economy and national development.

Nominations are being accepted across three categories:

•                     Founders of the Industry (“Early Pioneers”)

•                     Innovators of the Industry (“Pioneers”)

•                     Builders of the Industry (Group Award)

Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, Honourable Isaac Rankine, said the categories provide an opportunity to recognise the people and organisations whose contributions have helped shape the Cayman Islands of today.

“Cayman’s position as a leading international financial centre did not happen by chance. It was built over decades through the vision, expertise, leadership and commitment of individuals and organisations whose work has strengthened our economy, created opportunities for Caymanians and enhanced our international standing”, he stated.

“I encourage members of the public and the financial services community to consider those whose contributions deserve to be formally recognised and to put their names forward.”

Founders of the Industry (“Early Pioneers”)

This category will recognise up to 25 individuals who led or contributed to the establishment of the Cayman Islands as an international financial centre before 2000 and whose contributions have left a lasting impact within the industry.

Innovators of the Industry (“Pioneers”)

Up to 75 individuals may be recognised in this category for long-term and transformative contributions to the development of the Cayman Islands’ financial services industry. Eligible nominees should have contributed 30 years or more in either the public or private sectors.

Builders of the Industry (Group Award)

This category will recognise up to 30 organisations that have operated in the Cayman Islands for 30 years or more and made exceptional, long-standing contributions to the financial services industry and the wider development of the Islands.
