Shortly after 4:00AM on Friday, 12 June, police responded to two reports of burglary in North Side.
In the first incident, it was reported that two masked individuals dressed in dark clothing unlawfully entered a residence along North Side Road.
A victim, who was awoken during the incident, shouted at the suspects who fled the location with a quantity of cash and a mobile phone.
While officers were responding to that incident, they were alerted to a second burglary that had recently occurred at a nearby residence. It is reported that a masked individual dressed in dark clothing entered the home and stole a quantity of cash before fleeing the location.
No one was injured during either incident and these matters remain under police investigation.
In both incidents, it appears that the properties were left insecure, with doors unlocked. The RCIPS is reminding the public to ensure that all doors and windows are properly secured before going to bed or leaving their homes.
Anyone, who believes they have any relevant CCTV recording or information regarding these incidents, is encouraged to contact the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220.
