Police Investigated Fatal Collision in Cayman Brac

Police Investigated Fatal Collision in Cayman Brac

At around 7.15AM, Wednesday 20 March, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision in Cayman Brac.

Following initial investigations, the collision is believed to have taken place sometime between 2AM and 3AM and was a single vehicle collision with one female occupant who was pronounced deceased at the scene by an attending medical practitioner. The occupant was a 30-year-old-woman from Mexico, who was living and working in Cayman Brac. Her next of kin in Mexico have now been informed of the incident and are being assisted by the police.

The RCIPS expresses its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The incident occurred on South Side Road, West of Bluff Road in the vicinity of Beach Club. This section of road was closed while police complete analysis of the scene and has since been cleared with the assistance of the Cayman Islands Fire Service and re-opened to the public.

Investigators are seeking the assistance of the public in ascertaining the circumstances of this collision. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything is encouraged to call the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-033.
