Police Recover Large Quantity of Drugs in Beach Bay

During the early morning hours of Saturday, 8 January, 2022, the Air Operations Unit, while conducting coastline patrol in the Beach Bay area of the Bodden Town District, spotted suspicious activity. Officers responded and during the search of the area two vehicles were recovered containing a large quantity of ganja.  A number of persons believed to have been involved in the importation of the recovered drugs fled the location on foot.  An extensive search of the area was conducted; however, these persons were not located. The matter is being investigated by the police.

Based on the hostile terrain and ironshore, it is possible that some of these persons might have been injured.
