Covid 19

Four new positive Covid 19 results and a new shopping schedule are the latest headlines from Government's Daily Covid 19 briefing.  Premier the Honorable Alden McLaughlin says Saturday proved challenging, "Not so much inside but managing queues outside the door. That sort of arrangement increases the risk of the virus because of the number of people in proximity to each other."

On Sunday, the Premier announced a different strategy going forward.  He says "Starting tomorrow [Monday], adults with the last name beginning with A - K will be able to enter supermarkets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Adults with the last name L-Z will be allowed to enter stores on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays."

The Premier urged families to send one adult only from each household and leave children at home where possible. Supermarkets have adjusted their hours to accommodate the crowds and have set up special services for seniors, disabled people, pregnant women and essential workers.

Regarding the four latest Covid '19 cases, health officials say they two are from recently returning travellers and the other two, direct contacts of travelers.
