Seventeen New Labour Tribunal Appointments

The Ministry of Caymanian Employment and Immigration (MCEI) advises the public that Cabinet has approved the appointment of new members to the Labour Tribunal, in accordance with Section 74 of the Labour Act (2021 Revision).

Cabinet has appointed the following seventeen (17) persons to the Labour Tribunal to serve with immediate effect until 30 April 2027:

•     Pramod Joshi – Chair

•     Stephen Symons – Chair

•     Haymond Rankin – Deputy Chair

•     Davina Ramoutar – Deputy Chair

•     Dr. Ian Charlery – Member

•     Chad Bodden – Member

•     Amaya Alemanez – Member

•     Monyque Brooks – Member

•     Zandria Scott – Member

•     Darlene Zelaya – Member

•     Yasmin Connor – Member

•     Catalina Pomare Watson – Member

•     Cristina Spratt – Member

•     Andy Blake – Member

•     Edward O. Chisholm – Member

•     Valerie Hoppe – Member

•     Tara Ebanks – Member

These appointments join the existing nine (9) members who were appointed earlier this year, bringing the current total number of Labour Tribunal members to twenty-six (26).

Hon. Michael Myles, Minister for Caymanian Employment and Immigration stated, “The Ministry is pleased to announce that the Tribunal is comprised of highly qualified professionals representing a broad cross-section of industries and areas of expertise, ensuring balanced and informed decision-making. These appointments strengthen the Tribunal’s capacity to deliver timely, fair, and consistent decisions for the people of the Cayman Islands. As our Ministry continues preparatory work on new labour legislation, a fully supported and well-resourced Tribunal is essential to building a modern and efficient labour system that protects both workers and employers and promotes confidence in our labour market.”
