Stadium, the first 24/7 multi-platform sports network, today announced an exclusive partnership with the 2018 Cayman Islands Classic, a high-profile preseason college basketball tournament. Stadium will air all twelve games exclusively on Facebook.com/StadiumCollegeBasketball and will feature four 2018 NCAA Tournament teams in Clemson, Creighton, Georgia State and St. Bonaventure.

This is the first season the Cayman Islands Classic will be streamed on Facebook, giving access to its more than 1.4 billion daily active users. The partnership with the Cayman Islands Classic expands the already robust offering Stadium features on the Facebook platform, including live college and high school football, basketball and additional Olympic sports.

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Stadium and expand our global reach on Facebook’s streaming platform,” Caymax Sports, Ltd. Chief Strategy Officer Jill Turk said, “Our tournament’s key objective was to increase our exposure to a massive global audience and provide the opportunity for sports fans to watch our premier event, while showcasing our tournament sponsors and the beautiful Cayman Islands. To have the chance to share this exciting sports experience in just our tournament’s second year with billions of fans globally is an incredible opportunity.”

Caymax Sports Ltd. CEO Joe Wright added, “We are thrilled to have our tournament streamed on the largest global digital platform. As a result, our teams and their respective universities participating in our tournament will receive enormous global exposure. Our exclusive partnership provides the opportunity for Facebook sports fans to watch elite Division 1 Men’s College Basketball games. This is an invaluable opportunity for all involved.”

The full field includes Boise State University, Clemson University, Creighton University, Georgia State University, Illinois State University, St. Bonaventure University, University of Akron and the University of Georgia.

The tournament will take place on Monday, November 19th and run through Wednesday, November 21st, 2018, exclusively on Facebook.com/StadiumCollegeBasketball. All games will take place from the New John Gray Gymnasium in George Town. “The trip to the Cayman Islands will be a tremendous challenge for our team,” said Georgia Head Coach Tom Crean. “This field will definitely push us to understand what it takes to succeed. We are looking forward to it.

“This was huge for us to be able to get the Cayman Islands Classic,” said Stadium Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman. “I would be surprised if at least four or five teams don’t wind up playing in the NCAA tourney. You have a great mix of high-major programs and proven mid-majors who will have a chance to win their leagues. Great field and the Cayman Islands. Doesn’t get much better than that.”

More information on schedules and matchups will be announced in the coming weeks.
