The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac, is proud to welcome its newest group of Caymanian interns as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering local talent and supporting Caymanian workforce development in the Cayman Islands.

The 2025 Internship Programme brings together a group of bright, motivated Caymanian students and recent graduates who will gain hands-on experience across various departments at the CIAA, including Airport Operations, Aeronautical Information Services (AIS), Business Development and Marketing & Communications, and Customer Service & Ground Transportation.

“We are excited to welcome these enthusiastic young professionals to the Airports Authority,” said Albert Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the CIAA. “This internship programme is a vital investment in the future of aviation and infrastructure management in the Cayman Islands. It provides our interns with practical, real-world experience, while also enabling us to learn from their fresh perspectives and ideas.”

“The opportunity to be part of the CIAA internship programme was one of the best internships I have been a part of.  It is refreshing to be recongnised as someone that can actively contribute to real work, in real time, and truly make a difference. I am truly thankful for this opportunity.” Explained Nathan George, CIAA Business Development and Marketing & Communications Intern.

The CIAA’s internship programme offers participants a structured opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, develop professional skills, and explore potential career paths within the aviation sector. Interns are paired with experienced mentors who provide guidance and support throughout the duration of the programme.

This year’s interns all of whom are Caymanian were selected through a competitive application process and represent a diverse range of academic backgrounds and interests. Many of them are pursuing studies in engineering, business administration, airport management, and related fields.

As the CIAA continues to grow and modernise its operations, nurturing Caymanian talent remains a key part of its strategic vision. The internship programme underscores the Authority’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community engagement.

The CIAA extends a warm welcome to all interns and looks forward to seeing their growth and contributions over the coming months.
