Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, 26 June 2025. The Cayman Islands Public Library Services (CIPLS) announces the start of the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) on Tuesday, 1 July 2025, under the theme ‘Quests and Conquests’.

“The Summer Reading Challenge aims to develop lifelong learners and encourage its participants to enjoy reading over the summer,” commented CIPLS Acting Director Mr. Kevin Goring.

The challenge is open to all children between ages 6 and 17. They may sign up electronically or at any public library between 1 July and 23 August.

Mr. Goring added, “This year, we will be introducing new activities in line with the theme, ‘Quests and Conquests’, including a scavenger hunt and movie days, new awards for the top winners, and a variety of prizes to incentivise loyal participants to continue reading.”

To register, interested persons should visit the CIPLS website at www.library.ky,  download a registration form and submit the completed form to libraryprogrammes@gov.ky. Alternatively, participants may visit any of the six public libraries to register in person and collect the Activity Book to get started.
