Tourism, Covid 19

The Displaced Tourism Employees Stipend Programme, launched and managed by the Ministry and Department of Tourism, is being managed by the Ministry of Border Control and Labour with effect from 1 January 2022.
January’s payment will be disbursed to previously approved and enrolled recipients, with pay-out scheduled for Friday, 14 January 2022.

Individuals who receive direct bank deposits and those who receive cheque payments will continue to draw funds as previously arranged. Requests for a change from direct bank deposit to cheque will not be accommodated.

Persons who have obtained employment must update the Ministry by emailing stipend@gov.ky and indicating the words “tourism stipend” in the subject line.

The Ministry continues to encourage recipients to register with WORC on the JobsCayman portal. Visit www.worc.ky or email jobscaymanhelp@gov.ky for assistance.

In the coming weeks the programme will be reviewed and additional needs assessments will be conducted. Recipients will be advised by the end of next week of the new programme requirements to remain eligible for funding.

New applications for this programme are not being accepted at this time. Contact 649-6932 or email stipend@gov.ky and indicate the words ‘tourism stipend’ in the subject line with any queries.
