Two Arrested in Corruption Case

On Wednesday 13th February 2019 Anti-Corruption Commission investigators, supported by officers from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, arrested two persons upon suspicion of having committed the following offences:

  1. Fraud on the Government, contrary to s.11 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2018 Revision);
  2. Breach of trust, contrary to s.13 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2018 Revision); and
  3. Conflict of interest, contrary to s.19 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2018 Revision).

The male (a public officer) aged 42 and the female aged 41 are both from the Newlands area. Both persons were released on bail pending further enquiries.
