UPDATE: Man Arrested & Charged in Relation to George Town Shooting Incident,

On Sunday, 21 September, officers observed a man, who was wanted in relation to an attempted robbery and shooting incident on 16 September, driving a vehicle on Frank Sound Road, North Side. Officers activated flashing lights and sirens to signal the vehicle to pull over, however the man continued driving, travelling west along Bodden Town Road, and was observed throwing items from the vehicle. At one point the vehicle collided with a police vehicle, causing minor damage.

 

The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the man exited and attempted to flee from the officers on foot, however he was soon detained and taken into custody. A search of his person was conducted and officers recovered a quantity of suspected ganja along with drug paraphernalia. Officers also recovered the items which he had thrown from the vehicle, which were found to be packages containing a large quantity of suspected ganja. A search of his residence was subsequently conducted and an additional quantity of ganja, along with cash, was found.

 

The man, age 33 residing in West Bay, has since been formally charged with Attempted Robbery, Wounding with Intent, and Possession of a Firearm with Intent, in relation to the 16 September incident. He has also been charged with two counts of Reckless & Negligent Act, along with Possession of a Controlled Drug (Ganja), in relation to the circumstances of his arrest on 21 September.

 

He is expected to appear in court 24 September.
