Wanted Convicted Man, Marcus Manderson, Arrested

Shortly after 10:40AM, 16 February, wanted man Marcus Manderson was arrested following a proactive police operation at a residence in the Washington Boulevard Area of George Town.

Manderson had been convicted (in absentia) on 2 December, 2022 following a Grand Court trial, for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, after having previously absconded Court bail.

Manderson received a bite from a police K-9 during the arrest. He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged into police custody. During the operation, police also recovered a loaded firearm from the residence.

A woman, age 24 of George Town, was also arrested on suspicion of defeating the course of justice, for assisting Manderson in evading the police.
