Wanted Man Arrested After Attempting to Evade Police

Shortly before 12:00PM 18 June, officers responded to a report that a man, who was wanted in relation to an incident which had occurred the previous day, had been located on Dorcy Drive. Officers attended and observed the man driving a Honda Civic.

 

The officers signaled the man to stop the vehicle, however he refused to do so. The officers followed the vehicle, which was travelling east, and continued to signal for it to stop. Eventually, the vehicle was stopped along Rex Crighton Boulevard and the man attempted to flee on foot. The man, age 21, residing in Bodden Town, was apprehended by officers and arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, as well as several other offenses in relation to the previous incident, and transported to the CI Detention Centre (CIDC).

 

While at the CIDC, the man began to behave in an aggressive manner, attacking police officers at the location. He was further arrested for assaulting police, and remains in custody as investigations continue.

 

Another man, age 22, residing in North Side, who was the passenger of the vehicle, was also arrested in relation to an outstanding warrant.
